RECOMMENDATIONS FOR CUTTING AND CLEANING WOVEN WIRE GRILLES
STEP 1: We suggest making a template of the desired grille size, made of heavy paper or cardboard. Measure the routed opening that the grille will need to be placed into - deduct 1/8” from each dimension for clearance.
STEP 2:
Place the template on a flat surface large enough to hold the grille material. Lay the grille over the template and position it so the design is centered from top to bottom and from side to side. Be sure that the wires “run into” each corner.
STEP 3:
Using a permanent ink marker or lumber crayon, mark the grille wires corresponding to your template. (If more than one grille of each size is to be cut, use a marker to outline one ‘diamond’ on the template near each of the four corners. This will assist in positioning the remaining material on the template).
STEP 4:
Cut the grille with wire or bolt cutters, carefully following your marked lines. Any loose corner wires may be secured once the grille is mounted into the routed opening.
